Cape Town - No, you're not seeing double on your R100 note.
An error on some R100 notes currently in circulation has resulted in both Reserve Bank Governor Gill Marcus and former Governor Tito Mboweni's signatures appearing side by side.
According to a report by the Sunday Independent, the faulty notes were identified by an internal investigation by the Reserve Bank in May, but the Bank has not yet taken any action to recall notes.
The report claims the notes were circulated in the Northern Cape, and the Reserve Bank made arrangements with commercial banks to swap out the notes.
It is alleged the error occurred due to a lack of training among machine technicians.
