Cape Town - A leaked medical report suggests that honeymooning Swedish tourist Anni Dewani was killed in cold blood, execution style, and no sexual assault took place, according to Britain's Mail Online.
Dewani was murdered in what was initially thought to be a hijacking, but after further investigation and arrests, it is alleged that her husband Shrien paid to have her killed.
Shrien was recently arrested in England, and the justice department said on Friday that extradition papers have been processed, clearing the way for the extradition from the UK of the murder accused.
The medical document, compiled by a paramedic at the murder scene, indicates that Anni died from neck and back wounds, and does not mention any wounds or injuries to Anni's hands.
According to a medical officer at the scene, there were bullet wounds in her neck and two or three stab wounds on her back.
"Her clothes were intact. There was no sign that there had been an attempted sexual attack or fighting. Her clothes were neat like when you lay a baby down and pull her clothes nicely. There was no evidence of a struggle.
"She looked like someone who had maybe passed out after drinking or had been sedated. It looked as if someone in the passenger seat had leant over and shot her in the neck. I got the definite impression that she was executed..
"I didn't see any wounds on her hands. I didn't examine them but I'm sure if she was shot I would have noticed blood coming from her hands," Mail Online quotes the medical officer as saying.
This contradicts alleged findings of an investigation by a ballistics expert apparently commissioned by the legal team representing her husband Shrien.
The expert had allegedly found that Anni had been shot in the hand.
Gunshot wounds through the hand tend to be unintentional, and often occur during a struggle, Mail Online said.
