Johannesburg - The ANC Youth League has postponed the official handover of a house it promised to athlete Caster Semenya, it said on Saturday.
The official handover of the house at Mmasehlong Village in Limpopo by ANCYL president Julius Malema was postponed until further notice, said the league's spokesperson Floyd Shivambu.
He said the house has already been built and furnished.
However, Shivambu said the initially set date of December 12 was not suitable for all those who needed to be at the official handover.
In October this year, the ANCYL lashed out at "spiteful" reports by "some newspapers" that accused its leader, Malema, of failing to stick to promises to make donations to several people.
"The ANC Youth League paid Caster Semenya not only the R60 000, but R120 000 and further contributed to efforts to build her a house in Limpopo, Shivambu said at the time.
The 800 metres champion was at the centre of a gender debacle earlier this year, which she was later cleared of.
