Malicious students' case postponed

East London - A case against 205 university students accused of public violence and malicious damage to property was postponed in the Mthatha Magistrate's Court on Monday, Eastern Cape police said.

The case would resume again on May 26 and May 27 next year in the same court, police spokesperson Mzukisi Fatyela said. The students, from Walter Sisulu University, were arrested on September 15 after they allegedly torched three buses and the dining room on campus. They had also stoned the police.

The clashes were a result of a dispute between students and the university's management.
