The article also reported that up to 2/3 of our harmful exposure to chlorine is through absorption by the skin during showering.
Even if you can't detect the presence of chlorine in your water via smell or taste, that doesn't mean you're safe from the consequence of exposure. Chlorine exposure can be especially harmful for individuals with pre-existing conditions such as sinus conditions, allergies, skin rashes, emphysema and asthma. Got Chloroform? The most current findings from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) indicate that virtually every home in America has a detectable level in the air of chloroform gas -- a derivative of chlorine and a known carcinogen -- due to chlorine and showering. Anyone who showers regularly should be concerned about the dangers of chlorine exposure, but especially those who suffer from dry and irritated skin; damaged and brittle hair; flaky or itchy scalp; or redness and burning of the eyes.
Dr. John Andelman, Ph.D., says the dangers of exposure to chlorine during showers via absorption through the skin as well as inhalation cannot be overstated. Andelman is especially concerned with the high concentrations of chlorine and synthetic chemicals that can enter the body this way.
Experts used to believe that ingestion was the primary method of chlorine intake, but new studies show that inhalation and skin exposure intake are even higher. One of the most prevalent forms of chlorine taken in through inhalation is chloroform. Remember, chloroform is a carcinogen, and it's also linked to excessive free radical formation, cell mutation, and the oxidation of cholesterol.
As Dr. Mercola explains, when we inhale chloroform, it goes directly into our bloodstreams without any kind of preliminary detoxification. So unless you are regularly taking minute-long showers in cold water, "your body is like a sponge for these airborne toxins every second you spend in the shower," says Mercola. Kills 100% of Cancer Cells in 48 Hours
-- with No Side Effects Th ere exist several alternative treatments for cancer that are truly effective -- and yet most people have never heard of them. One of them in particular, a non-toxic, brown liquid formula, has helped thousands of people beat their cancer -- even after being told by their doctors that they had no chance of survival.
This powerful natural cancer fighter has actually been around for decades. It was first developed by scientist and researcher Jim Sheridan, whose own studies confirmed that it cured cancer in up to 80% of lab subjects, with no side effects. Battling "The Cancer Industry" Despite the undeniably significant success rates achieved by Sheridan, drug companies took no interest in producing Sheridan's formula. Why? That's because they couldn't patent the liquid treatment and make a profit -- therefore, they ignored it completely.
It's no big secret that the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) work together to protect the interests of the lucrative cancer industry. They even tried to prevent Sheridan's formula from going through the clinical trials required to prove safety and effectiveness.
But Sheridan wasn't just any scientist and researcher. He was a man who had literally dedicated his life's work to discovering a cure for cancer. He continued to refine his formula -- and finally, in the early 80s, a metallurgist and engineer named Ed Sopcak got involved with the production and distribution of Sheridan's cancer killer.
"Mr. Sopcak was a real blessing to Dad," says one of Sheridan's sons. Sopcak believed that Sheridan's amazing cancer fighter ought to be available for free to people who needed it -- with or without the help of the FDA. Therefore, from 1984-1992, Sopcak gave away 20,000 bottles of the medicinal liquid to people with cancer, and thousands reported remarkable results such as the following: Pam's fast-growing invasive ductile carcinoma disappeared completely -- without surgery, chemo, radiation, or hormone-blocking drugs. She had taken Sheridan's brown liquid formula despite her doctor's warnings against using anything but conventional cancer treatments. Pam continued to get regular ultrasound check-ups through another doctor -- and after a year and a half on the formula, all her tests showed no cancer.
Dick's esophageal cancer surgery left him with septic shock, 2 staph infections, and a metastasized cancer recurrence 2 years later. Radiation reduced his cancer by about 55% but could not eliminate it completely. He began using Sheridan's formula, and after 6 months, a bronchial scope and CT scan showed no cancer in his esophagus or trachea.
Bonnie's very aggressive bladder cancer had metastasized to her lymphatic system. She decided against chemo and used Sheridan's formula instead. Two years later, Bonnie's regular diagnostic tests all show her to be free of cancer.
Arch was told he had only a 15% chance to live, but he used Sheridan's formula and today, 3 years later, he's still alive with "no evidence of cancer in repeated CAT scans." | NCI Testing Finds Formula "Highly Effective" It took Sheridan decades to convince the National Cancer Institute to do any testing at all. When they finally did, they botched the tests not once, but 3 separate times. Then in 1990, the NCI did in vitro lab tests, and found that Sheridan's formula was highly effective, killing virtually 100% of cancer cells within 48 hours. NCI researchers tested lung cancer cells, melanoma cells, colon cancer cells, and several others.
The incredible results were confirmed by Dr. Ven Narayanan, who was then head of drug testing for NCI. Full test results were published in BEMI Currents Journal Volume 3: Number 4 in March of 1993.
Shockingly enough, the NCI refused to take the next step. They claimed that any substance so powerful in vitro would have to be taken in toxic doses in order to be effective in humans. However, Sheridan's own toxicity tests showed his formula was completely non-toxic. Official toxicity reports later confirmed Sheridan's results, proving the cancer-killing liquid to be less toxic than a daily aspirin tablet.
Meanwhile, chemotherapy cancer drugs are extremely toxic, yet are considered the gold standard of cancer treatment. Go figure. Chemotherapy Found to Be Only 2% Effective
in Improving Survival in Cancer Patients A study published recently in the journal Clinical Oncology answered that very question. The study examined randomized controlled clinical trials from 1990 - 2004 to measure the actual benefit of chemotherapy in the treatment of adults with the most common types of cancer. In any instances of uncertain data, the study's authors deliberately erred on the side of overestimating chemo's benefits.
Even so, the study concluded that chemotherapy contributes just over 2% to improved survival in cancer patients.
According to Ralph Moss, author of The Cancer Industry, "the FDA has still not approved any non-toxic agents as treatments for cancer. And the NCI has still not conducted a single fair and competent study of any alternative cancer therapy."
And yet the FDA managed to ban Jim Sheridan's completely non-toxic and highly effective cancer treatment from 1992 to 1999, forbidding it to be sold or distributed across state lines. Sopcak was even prohibited from shipping the formula at no cost to those who asked for it.
Against all odds, the Sheridan family didn't give up the fight. In 1999, they were finally able to get the formula produced again, this time for sale to the public.
